Novilon Oilon – self-lubricating Novilon (PA6 G + oil)
The Novilon Oilon is a cast polyamide with the microscopically tiny drops of oil, built-in during the production process. In this way the oil becomes a composite part of the total structure of the material. Thus incorporated oil can not evaporate or flow off the material.
The oil is always on the sliding surface
Owing to the incorporation of the oil into the mass the material always remains on the sliding surface, regardless the type of working. Although it can not be seen or touched, it is spread in the form of the micro drops uniformly all over the volume of the material.
Incredible durability
By means of the incorporation of the exactly defined quantity of oil into the polyamide we achieve almost incredible durability of this material. The oil, respectively, the lubricant reduces the friction coefficient on the sliding surfaces for more than 25%, what prevents the excess apparition of heat and consequently of heating, which is the principal reason for the shorter life time of the non-lubricated polyamides.
Incorporate and forget
If in the majority of cases the ordinary cast polyamides last 5 to 10-times longer than its metal substitutes (castings of bronze, aluminium, or brass), then the Novilon Oilon last even 5 to 7-times longer than the ordinary ones. Numerous cases of applications in practice thus proved that the following characterization of the Novilon Oilon is justified: Incorporate and forget about it.”
