Chemical stability
The stability of Novilon in various chemical substances depends above all on the chemical property of the chemical, chemical structure, and the degree of the crystallinity of the poyamide. In general the Novilon polyamides are stable in the majority of media they come in touch with as technical elements.
They are particularly stable in all:
- lubricants
- fuels
- aliphatic hydrocarbons
- aromatic hydrocarbons
In the expressively polar chemicals (concentrated inorganic acids, formic acid, cresol, glycol, and benzyl alcohol) the Novilon polyamides melt - especially at increased temperatures. Their resistance is also not of long duration in the dissolute strong acids.
