Polycarbonate light bands
The polycarbonate light bands (PC light bands) are skylights, presenting the alternative to the acrylic light bands. They can be incorporated in all kinds of living and industrial buildings, regardless the type of roofing. They are especially suitable for larger buildings, requiring the incorporation of wider light bands due to the large ground-floor surfaces (the width of the PC light bands can be even up to 6 m).
In the majority of cases the PC light bands are composed of two end elements and of the optional number of middle elements, what enables the manufacture of the band lengths at one's choice.
Like the acrylic light bands the PC light bands can be fixed, or they may have the possibility of air ventilation and of the natural smoke and heat exhausting in the case of fire.
Composition of the PC light band
The PC light band is composed of:
- crown (usually metal Z profile)
- metal substructure (usually aluminium girders and profiles)
- structured polycarbonate panels (SPC panels)
- mechanism for the air ventilation and the natural smoke and heat outlet in the case of fire
