Segment sky domes

The segment sky domes are usually used for the glazing of larger openings. The segment sky domes of smaller sizes can be made without metal substructure, while the segment sky domes of larger sizes, more frequently used, are usually made of metal structure and fillings of the thermoformed or flat acrylic. They are always manufactured on order for a particular building.

Metal structure
The metal structure assures the basic bearing capacity of the segment sky domes. The sealing (PVC, rubber), inserted between the metal profiles, provides sealing between the metal structure and the acrylic fillings. Due to the exposure to the weather condition the metal structure shall be manufactured of aluminium or surface protected steel.

Metal structure fillings
The fillings of the metal structures are usually made of the thermoformed or flat cast acrylic Aglas. The range of standard colours is very wide. The fillings can be single-layered or multi-layered. On client's wish we can manufacture also the segment sky domes of other thermoplasts (extruded acrylic, solid or structured polycarbonate).
