Types of acrylic binder resins

Aksa 16

This is the two-component, pre-accelerated, cold curing acrylic resin which does not contain solvents. The curing of resin is carried out at room temperature with the addition of the curing agents in the form of a paste or a powder.

The resin Aksa 16 is meant for the mixing with the calcite sands with grains up to a few mm large. The binder resin gives to the final products an aesthetic appearance, good resistance to water and to other exterior weather conditions. The composite masses, containing Aksa 16, are applied on the gel coat. The resin contains waxes which diminish the emissions of the acrylic vapours during curing.

AKSA N

This is the three-component, pre-accelerated, cold curing acrylic resin which does not contain solvents. The curing of resin is carried out at room temperature with the addition of the curing agents in the form of a paste or a powder. The preparation of the resin is slightly more demanding, however, the resin is cured more uniformly and has better colour stability owing to its three-component composition. The resin Aksa N enables thermoforming of final products, too.

The resin Aksa N is meant to be mixed with the fillers of the type ATH. The binder resin gives to the products a good resistance to chemicals and to the hydrothermal shocks, and certain thermoformability. The Aksa N is the binder for the composite masses of the type "solid surface", which are applied directly on the mould. The resin contains waxes which diminish the emissions of the acrylic vapours during curing.
