Aglas   (PMMA)

Aglas is a protected trade name for the cast acrylic sheets (PMMA), produced by Akripol. It is a challenge for the architects, designers, and design engineers due to its excellent mechanophysical and chemical properties, as it presents a base for the manufacture of a wide range of articles. Various light elements, bath tubes, skylights, and the sound barriers are manufactured of the acrylic Aglas sheets. Since these sheets successfully defy weather conditions and due to their simple working, they proved useful in many other fields of use.

Tradition and quality

The cast acrylic sheets Aglas have been manufactured already since the year 1974. The development, the manufacture, and marketing are carried out in compliance with the requirements of the International Quality Standard ISO 9001:2000. The tradition of manufacture and the continuous improvements in the development and production place Akripol among the leading European producers of the cast acrylic sheets.

Resistant and durable

Aglas is well-known for its resistance and durability. Even when it is exposed to the weather conditions for a longer period, it keeps its colour and toughness. Compared to other plastic materials it has a relatively high surface hardness.

Transparent, translucent, colour

The transparent sheets Aglas are more translucent than the ordinary glass and at the same time they weight half less, and are not easily broken. The standard colour scale comprises the transparent, translucent, and opaque colour sheets; however, special shades of the standard colours can be made on client's wish.

Simple working

The sheets Aglas can be cut, drilled, milled and polished by using ordinary machines and tools for metal and wood working. Elegantly shaped products can be created out of it by means of the thermal processing owing to its thermoplasticity.
